What calculation unit does the cycles table have?
Cycle table is a special simple table with a row unit of conversion, where each row is attached with copies of calculation tables within the cycle.
What type of table can be inside the cycle?
Only calculation tables can be attached inside the loop.
Does the data in cycles differ from cycle to cycle?
The data differs from cycle to cycle, but the structure remains the same. It's something like documents with the same template — the template is the same, but the documents are different because they are filled out differently.
At an advanced level, you will learn how to make the templates different as well, but that will come later.
What purpose can cycles be used for?
For example, these are Orders. Each row in the cycle table is an Order. Inside, there can be several tables — Order composition, Materials, Estimates, and so on.
Or Reports. Each cycle is a report for a specific month, and the tables inside represent its different directions.
You can also have Shipping documents. Each cycle is a shipping operation with its own parameters.
Does a change within a cycle cause the row in the cycles table to be recalculated?
Yes. Any change within the loop automatically leads to the recalculation of the row of this loop in the loop table.
How do I add new fields to tables within cycles?
Tables inside loops are managed like regular tables. It is important to remember that when you add a field to a table inside a loop, you are in a specific loop.
For this field to appear in other loops, they will need to be recalculated.
Does recalculation of a row in a cycles table make the tables inside the cycle recalculate?
The fact is that if you recount the rows in the cycle table, you will not recount the tables inside.
To recount the tables inside, you need to open them or perform a Cycle Recount
from the dropdown menu.
